Data recovery is the procedure of salvaging data from damaged, wrecked, inaccessible or failed primary storage media when it is unable to be accessed normally. The damage can result from physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system which prevents it from being accessed. Often the data recovery is salvaged from storage formats, such as RAID, DVDs, hard disk drives, storage tapes, CDs, and a number of other electronics devices.
